A case study of physiotherapeutic care for a patient diagnosis with axonal injury

Adéla Markvartová Title: A case study of physiotherapeutic care for a patient diagnosis with axonal injury Objectives: Theoretical analysis of after diffuse axonal injury and elaboration of physiotherapy procedures. Methods: This bachelor thesis was done with the patient's consent within practice at Military university hospital Prague at the rehabilitation department from January 12th to January 6th 2015. The thesis is divided into two main parts - theoretical and special part. The theoretical part includes basic characteristics of the illness, ethiopathogenesis, incidence, diagnostics, treatment and options of physiotherapy methods. The special part contains the after diffuse axonal injury patient's case concept, processes and the effects of his therapy. Results: Patient's condition, daily activities, movements, spatial orientation, muscular strength and physical condition have improved after the therapy. Author: Kateřina Kaňková Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with diffuse axonal brain injury Objective: The aim of this thesis is a summary of theoretical knowledge of diffuse axonal brain injury and a case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient with diffuse axonal brain injury. Methods: The thesis is divided into two parts - general (theoretical) and special (practical). Theoretical part is based on the research of professional literature and summarises the basic information about the problems of traumatic brain injuries including diffuse axonal brain injury. Practical part documents the process of rehabilitation of the patient with diffuse axonal brain injury duringthe continuous physiotherapy internship. Results: The therapy reached the best results in the area of stability and gait, we managed to reduce tremor and improve taxis. Key words: diffuse axonal brain injury, physiotherapy
